We have had this model only a year and just brought it out for the next season and it stated off working ok.  However, soon after the fan motor started making noise and often locks up.  We have used it just as it says to even using filtered water.  Not to happy to pay $40 some buck for something to have it only last a few months.

I've been through several small humidifiers...including this one.  It lasted only for a season.  Then the ultrasonic piece quit working. 

I would say this unit needs to be renamed a night light. Only several months after purchase, it quit blowing a mist. The fan motor works fine but there is no longer a vapor mist from the unit. The best thing about this model is the cool blue light that glows from it at night. Pretty expensive night light though at $40.00
