If I change the water regularly, do I still need to use Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridge?
Changing the water helps, but it won't keep the water as clean as it should be for your loved ones. Even fresh chlorinated tap water contains bacteria called HPCs or Heterotrophic Plate Count bacteria that are commonly found in the public water supply. Bottled water and distilled water can also contain significant quantities of bacteria.

Are Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridge safe?
Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges contain NO harmful or harsh chemicals. The water is kept cleaner with the use of natural antimicrobial materials that are as gentle as water on your humidifier surfaces. They have been used to control the growth of bacteria in drinking water filters for many years. You should be careful not to let your child play with the cartridge, as it could pose a choking hazard.

How easy are Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges to use?
Very easy. Just remove from the package and drop into the water tank of your humidifier or vaporizer. The used Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridge can be safely wrapped in newspaper and thrown away in your trash.

How often should I replace the Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridge?
If you use a humidifier continuously (as many of us do during cold and flu season), change it every 30 days. If you only use the humidifier a few days or weeks, put a new one in each time you reuse the humidifier.

What if I don't put in clean water at all?
Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges will still work. However, it is recommended that you change the water every three days while using Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges.

Where can I find Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges?
Most major retailers sell Protec™ Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges in the same department or area where they sell humidifiers and vaporizers. Many supermarkets sell it near the baby items.
