Vicks Ear Thermometer Product Reviews
Model Number: V971N Category: Thermometers Color: Blue/White Warranty: 1 Year Limited Price: $49.99 feel I have wasted my moneyIt reads high all the time. It makes me upset that I threw out the packaging and now can not get my money back.InconsistentI just bought this to use for my son who has frequent fevers. It seems to always be registering a higher than it really is temperature the first few times i use it and have to take his temperature about 5 times to get a consistent reading. with a 3 year old thats pretty hard. ear thermometer v971Nstop working after 6 monthsAwesome productVery easy to use and very affordable compared to other brands.BROKENI LOVED IT UNTIL IT STOPPED WORKING, 2 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT IT, AND NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.Wild variance in readingsThe manual says "practice to get consistent results." I have tried over and over, following the instructions to pull the ear up and back to straighten the ear canal. No luck. When well, my readings can vary between 94 and 97, never quite getting to 98.6 under any circumstances. When I go to Kaiser, I'm pretty consistent about 98.2. Recently I was ill, with an obvious fever. Reading over and over I got temperatures of 94.2, 95.3, 96.1, 99.1, and 100.3. I figure the highest was the most accurate, but this is quite absurd. I don't rate it lower on the chance that my ear canal is just weirdly shaped. I may try the forehead thermometer and see if it's any better. Were these complaints not bad enough, I have another complaint -- but not really about Vicks. Walgreens sold this model. But they don't carry replacement covers. Seems quite stupid. Had to look all over the place for slip covers. For the Price it stinksI paid $55 for the ear thermometer and it did not even last a year...for the price it should have lasted longer. I bought it thinking we could depend on it for our 4 yro son who had had a lot of ear infections at the time and only used for him. Would not recommend for the price.?Used to work perfectly, but it seems to be registering our family's temps as extremely low (94-96). Love the ear thermometer concept, though. Much better and typically more accurate than oral. SoftHeat heating padThis is agreat heating pad. It's soothing and gentle heat and i like the automatic shut-off. I also ordered the pad because it had aKing size choice and since I have Fibromyalgia its size relieves more of my pain. Thank you! |
