I have owned this humidifier for 15 days and the water tank is already cracked.
Good Product
Great humidifier that purifies the air with a cool feeling when the room feels muggy. Now the newborn can breathe and sleep comfortably.

it works great and is quiet, my son is fascinated with the stars projection. The scent of the vapor tab is not overwhelming but still gets the job done, only draw back is the tank is made out of brittle plastic.

Disappointed
I bought a starry night vics cool humidifier today from Rite Aid. I brought it home did everything the directions said and plugged it in. Four hours later I notice the water is at the same level and the fan is not working.
LovED it
It was great for the first few months, worked well, was nice and quiet and my daughter loved the colorful stars it showed on her ceiling. But suddenly after about 2 months it just stopped working. For some reason it wasn't releasing water, so we would have it on all night and the water level wouldn't go down. I wish there was a fix.
Great
I think this is a great product execpt I feel like I have to set it up on a chair or something to really fill the room with humidity. Due to the placement of the fan and vents I feel like the mist just creeps along the floor. Besides this I think the fact that it has 2 different settings and has the projector feature is wonderful!

Reason for purchase: Expecting a baby and the winter season makes the air a bit brittle and dry.
Reason for rating: We have been using it for 4 days and need more time with the humidifier to make a fair rating, so for now, we start off at 3/5.
Pros so far: The "Sleep mode" is quiet with a low hum; can feel relief quite imemmediately not long after turning on (nasal passage feels less dry); star projector is nice and dim/relaxing (not too bright); absolutely no noticelable water mist.
Cons so far: The "Max" setting is quite loud so we rarely use it in that mode especialy when sleeping; must keep the unit level at all times because the water reservoir is quite low, so when it is slightly not leveled it leaks out of the bottom (this is typicaly of most humidifiers but it would be nice if the water resorvoir were a little higher so I can transport it from room to room without it leaking).

This is our third humidifier. We'd registered for a different brand humidifier on our baby registry, and it leaked all over our son's bedroom floor. The second one (same brand, we should have known) stopped working after a week. We saw this at a local store and although we were aprehensive, we thought we'd give it a shot. We are happy that it does not leave water droplets all over the room. Our son loves the stars, although I wish there was a timer for that feature.
Our only concern is that there appears to be a residue on the inside of the tank, and we have not been able to clean it out. Otherwise, we are very happy.

Worked great for 1 season then started leaking
I bought this right before the birth of my son last fall to help me with severe 3rd trimester congestion. It worked great and was also helpful duing the winter for both me and my infant son. My son, now 13 months, is having chronic congestion problems this winter. Unfortunately, the humidifier now refuses to work and leaks all over the place. Really frustrated and in need of relief.
Broken after only 4 uses
I purchased this humidifier for my 11 month old who suffers from ear infections and horrible congestion. I bought it on Sunday and it is now Friday and the tank cap broke in 3 places and before I realized it there was water all over the floor in her nursery. Also, the stars which are the reason I purhcased this particular model are way too bright and are more of a distraction than a comfort to the baby. I turned that function off and went back to her Twilight Turtle for the star feature. This was a very disappointing purchase all around.
Faulty TANK CAP
We purchased our second V3700 because my wife liked the first one so much but 3 of the 4 tabs on the TANK CAP broke off. We have used the new one for 4 days and 2 of the 4 tabs have broken off this TANK CAP also ! ! ! The material is not strong enough, fix it ! ! !
Loved it....for a while
This humidifier seems to have it all- starry nights that you can turn or or off....pretty quiet- was great for about 3 years. When the baby got older, he knocked it down and it broke!!!! Water all over and no replacement tank sold. Wouldn't buy again!

We purchased the Starry Night Vicks Cool Moisture to put in our infant sons room. It works great and we love the projected stars!
Not To Sure
I loved it at first, but it fell off of my son's side table and the whole tank cracked. I would just buy a new tank, however, they don't have replacement tanks for this model. I am not going to go out and buy an whole new machine for $55.
poor quality
We bought this humidifer thinking my son would love it and he did. However the humidifier leaked an entire gallon of water onto our floor in a matter of minutes twice. Then the piece that you screw in the bottom to hold water in broke and now we can not use it.
Starry Night Cool Mist Humidifier
I find this product to be exceptionally loud, even when on the sleep setting. The noise is not even a constant "white noise" but more like a helocopter blade. On my unit the projector lens and cover do not stay in place no matter how many people attempt to secure it. The Vicks sent pads do not last as long as I'd expect them to and finding replacements has proven to be difficult. However this unit does seem to provide some comfort for a limited amount of time and has a long run time. I do not regret the purchase however I am mildy disappointment with a few of it's quirks.

Works well but...
Love the Stary Night!
We live in Denver where it is super dry year-round. Our 4-year-old son has asthma and various allergies. This humidifier is perfect for his bedroom, and the star projection feature is great. Nice that it can run independent of the humidifier too. On the lowest setting the humidity in his room reaches almost 50% within minutes.
Since we have hard water here, the filters gunk up pretty quick. We have to change them at least once per month, sometimes sooner.
I highly recommend this product.

This is a very quiet machine. I'm used to an older machine that blocked all other sounds, so it took some time to get used too. The only complaint I have is that the water container is a lot smaller.

I love this! I did find out that when the water doesn't get used as fast, it is time to chang the filter. My daughter loves to watch the colorful starry night as we are falling asleep...

I carefully am taking care of this product due to fact of the price I paid which was $45.00 (which a discount was given for having Rite Aid card). It is not even 2 months I have purchased this product and the tank gap is broken. How can this be. I would not recommend this product be brought because of its delicacy. If you are purchasing something to make your monies worth get something within a reasonable price. I hope to get something in change because with this economy going on it is difficult.
Tank Cap
I have had this humidifier for less than one year and have had to replace two tank caps because the "teeth" break and cause the tank to leak. This makes a HORRIBLE mess. It has a three year warranty but the tank caps are not covered under that warranty. I will be purchasing a different brand and I hate to do that because my daughter loves the stars.
