These are great!
I tried these on a whim, saw them at CVS. Love them! I don't have to clean out the humidifier every day now! Only problem, they are hard to find, and expensive when I can find them. So I went online and found them, cheaper than any store. I also got them shipped free! I would definitely recommend these to anyone who wants a humidifier in their room/baby's room, but doesn't want to deal with the hassels of having to clean out the humidifier all the time. I usually clean it about once a month with bleach (just a teaspoon per gallon of water), and that kills anything growing in there. The ball really does the hard work for you!!!
Keeps it clean!
I purchased these for the first time last fall and was really happy with how much longer the humidifier was able to go without cleaning it and changing the filter. I would definitely recommend these!!

Good Product
I've using a humidifier for three years because of the harsh conditions here in the high desert of Nevada. With these balls in the water tank, my filters last twice as long - and that's no BULL !!! Before using the Protec Cartridges, the filter would clog up with a lot of funky stuff starting at the bottom and eventually the whole filter. This is a GOOD PRODUCT and it does what it says - we have some nasty water here and the filters, after using Protec Cartridges last double time and don't get still and nasty before discarding them.

STOP THE BACTERIA ACCUMULATION
THE FILTER I TOOK OUT OF MY UNIT WAS SOOOOO NASTY I DECIDED TO TRY THIS ITEM IN MY HUMIDIFIER. WORKED GREAT & AT LEAST MY MIND IS AT PEACE KNOWING I AM NO LONGER BREATHING THE MOLD & MILDEW THAT ACCUMULATED IN THE OLD FILTER.

I have tried various humidifier cleaning products. Katz products have by far outoperformed any other type I have tried. One type even left a film on everything in the room. It was awful. Katz is also the easiest to use, last the longest, and is by far the cheapest.
Not effective
I had to purchase these because your company no longer produces the a KAB-8 bacteriostatic treatment. The KAB-8 was the only product effective in fending off the minerals and hard water deposits that pile up on our humidifiers. I am very disappointed in your company when I have repeatedly asked to have you continue making that product. This substitute product is just not effective at all.

Recently started using these in our humidifiers and love them. They allow me to change the filters less frequently and keep the water cleaner overall.
Keeps water from getting yucky
We have used this product now for 2 years -- changing them monthly -- for the 3 humidifiers we have in our house. It keeps the water from getting yucky inbetween weekly cleanings. It is well worth the money.
These really work!
These cleaning cartridges really help extend the life of my humidifier filters - I would say they easily double the duration of each filter. Given the hardness of our tap water, this extra life is a real plus. A definite worthwhile buy!

We have water with lots of calcium and mineral deposits in my area. The water leaves a pink ring around anything white. I installed these antimicrobial cleaning cartridges with a new filter and so far they have prolonged the life of my filter as opposed to running the humidifier without the cartridge. I will probably buy them again.

I've been using these for several years - you can see the results on the filters between using and not using these cartridges (I started out not using them and the filters showed mold or other type spots in spite of my cleaning efforts per instruction manuals of two units). I have to feel that the water (and therefore mist) is much purer with the use of these cleaning cartridges.

Great filters. I use them every winter season to keep my humidifer going. The mutti-pack is convienent and saves $$ over single purchaces. They are easy to replace and do not capture any mold smell while using. I do use the water treatment capsules in conjuction with the filters. Together they are a great product combo.

Bought this cartridge as per web site saying this is what I needed for my model,just one problem they did not fit into reservoir opening.I guess they would work well in large unit but not in the smaller ones. Save your money if you have a small unit!!!!

Previously I was able to buy the Anti Bacterial products at a local hardware store, since I was unable to find them at the store I ordered on line and will most likely order more in the future. I am satisfied with the product.

As Advertised
The antimicrobial cartriges work as advertised. I began using them several years ago. They are easy to use, just drop them into the humidifier's resevoir tanks. Mine tanks have been clean as long as they are active, even though I sometimes leave them beyond the recomended expiration date.

I bought these because the humidifier I bought is up where my daughters sleep and I wanted to keep the air as clean as possible. The filter still starts to grow stuff but it washes off easily and it doesn't really grow if I follow the instructions and rinse the filter off every time I refill it. These do seem to help.
Beware of customer service though. I had a bad experience and maybe I was just unlucky. Don't expect any confirmation on your order until it's shipped and if it's on back-order you won't find out until your order doesn't show up.
They do put out good products though if you're willing to deal with a little hassle. I would recommend any of the products I have purchased.

I was pleased with Katz. They sent the wrong item to start with. I called them. They said to keep the wrong item and that they would send the correct one. They had made a mistake and admitted it. I didn't have to mail anything back. That pleased me. I didn't get any "guff". They sent the correct item. I order those Humidifier filters on a regular basis. I know what I order and that is what I eventually received. Katz customer service is to be commended.

This is one of those products where the seller has all the advantage of making a claim the buyer would have a difficult time testing. I will concede that regular tap water provided by local municipalities might be less than ideal for keeping the air we breathe at a beneficial humidity. It is conceded that we might need a product that kills the unheathy microbes in the water. Whether or not these Antimicrobial Cleaning Cartridges actually do that, I cannot claim to have firsthand knowledge.
In terms of the ease of use, I give it some credit. Drop it in the tank and leave it until the beads on the inside have desolved... at least, I think that's how it's supposed to go. There is a recommendation of a more frequent change, but I suspect it's not a hard-and-fast rule. I don't know... if I trust them that it does the job, why wouldn't I trust them on the recommended replacment frequency? I'll default to skepticism, but if it is the case that these do what they are supposed to do, I want that benefit, and I guess I'll have to pay for it in a blind, un-evidenced hope.

I have two 1-1/2 gallon humidifiers. These are an excellent product, before I got them I had to clean the inside of the humidifier almost every week to 10 days because the inside got slimy and smelly. Now, I give it a good rinse weekly and can go over a month without having to clean the inside. I'm seeing less gunk around the filter, too. I plan to keep buying these as iong as I need a humidifier!

So this product so far has been good. The water doesn't smell bad and looks clean plus the humidifier looks clean inside. The bad thing is you have to change it every 30 days.

I really feel that it keeps the water clean in my humidifier as long as you change them once a month along with the filters. It so much easier than trying to get the mineral deposits off the machine.

NO Mildew
I have found by experience, that if changed every 4-5 weeks, this product eliminates any problems related to mildew, mould or other fungi.
