Last one was not very good
Has been a good product in the past. I bought one of the new models last summer and it died by season end so I'm back to the tried and true version. My last one lasted 7 years and am hoping to get that out of this. 4 * is high considering my experience with the last one but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt

the light goes a orage color and sparks real bad at onew eraa not sure ir some thing majer is going on so watch all of those carefully and on windy i think i going to need a replacement nowwet days might draw the wrong bugs

BUG Zapper
My Stinger worked very well for 3 months.
It then stopped stinging. The Bulb lights but bugs then started to walk and fly through the electric fence without fear.

Honeywell Stinger UV40 40 Watt 1-Acre Advanced Bug Zapper High-impact polycarbonate plastic housing with UV blacklight that attracts phototropic insects and lures them into killing grids.
It works great, but I wish it wasn't quite so loud? I took it with us camping and a few people actually complained that it woke them in the middle of the night while zapping every bug in our area! I thought I was doing them a favor, but the campground staff said I had to turn it off at midnight! When you first plug it in it makes a huge crackling noise, and you know its on! Sounds like it does some serious damage to anything that dares enter. I almost feel bad for the bugs! Almost

We have bought a couple of these before and they don't last very long, maybe 2 or 3 months. When they work they are great, but it is a waist of money if they don't even last while the insects are here.
I will try again and find out how long these last.

Broke after two months
Bug zapper worked great for two months, now it is just a expensive uv night light. Hopefully they will stand behind there warranty.

Frequent Purchaser
I have bought at least 6 of these units over the last 10 years. When I bought this house 12 years ago there was one that looked like it had been here forever that kept on zapping. It finally stopped working so I bought a couple more and spread them around the property a little more. It seems like the last few I have bought have lasted shorter and shorter lengths of time. This last one I bought was to repalce one that was less than 1 year old.
When they are working, they are great . I think Stinger needs to up the quality a little bit though.

Does an excellent job of killing - no bugs bit our grandchildren while out in the yard during the day time. Were not out at night to test it yet.
Grid got full of bugs in a few days - did not drop out as advertised.

i have bought 3 of these over the past 3 years. it says it's good for 1.5 acres but it can't keep up with my half acre. after one season it burns up. i would not recommened this to anyone.

Nice device
After a few days of usage, the bug population seems to be decreasing. Very nice auto on setting, very convenient, would be great if bug attracted to it during the day too...
Oh well cant have everything.!

Stinger 1 acre Insect Killer
Excellent product. Durable design. Easy to clean. Works well in rural Oklahoma.
Also 5 stars to the online customer service dept. I contacted them by email because the product had a part failure after 2 days of use. Within a few hours I had a reply, answered some questions to diagnose the defect and was provided postage paid return shipping. The replacement shipped 2 days after the defective item was received @ Kaz. No further problems... the replacement is busy zapping mosquitos!

Great Product
This is my thrid bug zapper. I have been using the Stinger since the late 1980's and I always go get the Stinger when I need to replace or add. Keep up the quality work on the bug zapper.

Got two warranty replacements today
I've posted previously about having purchased 8 of these in the last 3 years. Told Kaz that I was tired of buying them and thought the quality was really bad. I sent in the last two bad units to warranty center last Friday and received two new replacements today (Wednesday). It cost me $22.80 to send units in. The two units received today are made differently than perhaps the last 6 units I previously purchased. I'm hoping these two units are more representative of the other quality products that I've purchased from Kaz in the past. Time will tell.

does not work
I purchased the unit last summer and it worked for about 2 weeks, the UV light works and it attracts bugs but it does not kill them i have neve heard it ZAP anything. The sad part i bought it from Lowes and lost my reciet and can not return it. that was $50.00 thrown away.

grid does not work
I bought this product and used it for about 1 month and stored it for the winter. When I got it out this month the light worked but the grid had no power. I want to know how to be compensated for this purchase.

The Stinger "STINGS"
Tvery first night, our moth problem was resolved. No more moths getting into the house everytime you opened the door. It was getting out of hand. Then we bought the Stinger and problem solved.

bad item
It really kills the bugs but after 1 month using it during nights (using the energy saving mode) it gets so hot that melt the plastic that covers the screws of the inside.

Great but fragile pieces
The unit was bought at Lowes and when trying to install a piece was missing so it had to be returned to Lowes. We then were able to use the unit for about a week when the plastic hanging ring broke. I called the toll free number and they would not send a replacement ring but instead wanted to inconvenience me to send it back or return to Lowes to return it a second time. The unit would probably be great if we could ever use it.

Save your money!
It is a not worth the cost. The previous one we had, made by your company, at least lasted 18 months before the bulb burned out. This time, we did not even make it 3 (THREE) months!!!! The local store said notify the company. Consider this your notification!! I guess I'll find one made by the company that made our old one. The bulb in it lasted 4 YEARS!!!

We purchased 3 Stinger UV40 Series Electronic Insect Killers in the US and shipped them down to Honduras. We use them to control the Mosquito Population for our Missionary place in Honduras. They are amazing! They have cut our mosquito and other biting insect population down significantly!

The product Worked very well for one season then it Crashed - no light or hight voltage. I followed the troubleshooting steps in the owner's manual. Problem was stil there so I called warranty 800 number. I was told that I needed to replace the bulb first before the unit could be warrantied out. I advised that there was no high voltage present and that I did not want to spend $18.00 to buy a bulb for a bad unit. I complied with yhour representative and purchased a new bulb. When inserted and power was applied the bulb blew. So now I have a bad unit and a bad bulb. While I am very happy with the product I am not happy with yor service and warranty. Please correct this problem.

Bulbs life
I purchased a model uv40 Stinger on 4-16-2011. On 5-27-2011 the bulb went out. 1- is this covered under warrenty? 2- is that all the time the bulb will last?

Have had this product in the past and have had to replace two previous units in less than 3 years. They have been replaced in a timely fashion, but do hope that the quality has improved since that time. Just hung yesterday and seem to be working well. I did buy 2 units/ and tried replacing bulbs in old unit first with no success. So now have an extra bulb when needed. Thanks for you interest/ connie simpson

The stinger so far is working great. The only problem I have is filling out the information because my model is only a UV40 not UV40N or UV40-CAN and it only says on the box UV40 and also the owner's manual.

Stinger Killer
We purchased our first Stinger insect killer a few years ago. It did seem to help keep the number of insects, especially mosquitos, to a minimum. Our first unit lasted a few years, only requiring light bulb changes each year. When it no longer worked this year, we replaced it. The quality of this unit was not as good as the one we purchased a few years ago- the plastic came apart at the top within a few weeks of hanging it. We purchased a replacement and the light bulb went out on that one in a few weeks as well. While we commend the customer service department as they have been very good at helping us with replacements and very prompt in their response, we are disappointed that the overall quality has not been as good as the first killer that we purchased.

Dead out of the box
I purchaced one of these on July 4th and it was dead out of the box. The light worked, but the grid did not. I returned it and got a replacement. It was the same. I think I am done with this product.

Good Product/ Better Bulb
Bought a UV40, brought it home and the bulb didn't work. Took it back to the store purchased from and received a whole new product. Worked awesome for almost a month, took it down to clean it and when turning it back on, no bulb again. Not sure if it is a bulb defect or a product defect. Have had other similar products and never had to replace the bulb for years.

Stopped Working

Poor Dependability
I purchased another UV-40 bug Zapper this evening because the former unit did not work after I purchased a new bulb!! Why? I do not like to purchase a new bug zapper every two years because the old one will not religh when I buy a new bulb and install it in the orginal unit.
Is there a fuse on the unit, a starter or a part that prevents the unit from lighting the new bulb when it is placed in the unit after the burned out bulb is replaced?

It is an awesome bug zapper, EXCEPT it simply stopped working today (8-10-11), just 19 days after purchasing it! I will be calling your 1-800 # asap! Is there a re-set button? (Worked great for 18 days...the problem is not with the ext. cord, and the unit's red light is working...the bulb isn't lit anymore. No point in calling me...we don't answer calls out of our area code- solicitors...)

Bug Zapper
This purchase was the 2nd one of this particular item. The first worked so well that I decided to purchase another one for another section of my yard. Having a fish pond, the mosquitos used to gather in force but now, the problem has been resolved. Great product!

Unit worked great when it was working. The grid will not energize not to mention the light will not illuminate either. The problem here is that the unit is only 3 months old. Help!!!!
