The water wick / filter is not holding up very well at all. it is floppy and falling apart already. Also, the unit is not that quiet at all.
Honeywell Humidifier
This is the third unti i have purchased over the years. Obviously, being very satisfied with the first two led me to purchase this third unit. Overall, the unit works better than the other two in terms of putting moisture into the air. However, three changes have made the unit less customer friendly. The first is the the handle now protrudes out of what use to be flat top units. This does not provide a flat surface to put the unit down when filled in order to screw the tank cover back on. It makes it difficult to work with when full and there is even a risk that it will topple over.
Secondly, the older units had an automatic cut off when the water in the tank ran out. The new unti does not have a turn off so if the unit runs out of water before one is aware it needs filling, it just continues to run empty. The problem is that if it runs too long it dries out the filter, which is something the directions tell you should not be allowed to happen.
Lastly, with the old units, the directions allowed one to clean the botton by placing it in the dishwasher as an alternative to clening with rag and cleaner. With this new unit, this option has been eliminated.

I heat with wood and was having one sinus infection after another because it was so dry. The Kaz has helped bring in the humidity I need to keep the sinus infections at bay.

Purchased this from Kas as a replacement for a like unit that was purchased 4 years ago. Original unit was still working but I broke the water storage tank. Quick delivery of unit.
Kaz Cool Humidifier
First of all, it's very quiet, which was an important factor. It's for a big room, and so I find I have to keep it on medium or high to get it to the level I want. And that means I have to fill it daily. That's a drawback. But it does what it's supposed to do.
Honeywell humidifier
I ordered this humidifier from Kaz USA Inc. The product was delivered earlier than promised in excellent condition. I use wood for heat and needed to humidify the air for comfort. I am extremely satisfied with the preformance of the humidifier, it keeps our 1600 square foot house very liveable. Ordering on-line from Kaz was quick and easy, and I will compare their prices in the search of future purchases. I highly recomend Honeywell humidifiers and ordering from Kaz USA Inc.

HONEYWELL HCM-645 HUMDIFIER
Only been using a week, but am satisfied with it. It's quite and like the 4 gal tank, only need to refill it every 2 days. Dissapointed that it didn't come with the Protec Antimicrobial Cartridge, so I had to go back on line and order it. I think it should be included so everything you need is all there.

Doesn't appear to have an automatic shutoff float in the base for when the tank is empty.
This unit is a replacement for an identical one which no longer will run.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
The design of this humidifier is really poor. You have to remove the water canister, take it to the sink, unscrew a 4 inch diameter lid with a rubber gasket, fill thje container in the sink, reinstall the lid and tighten really tight so the gaskey doesn,t leak and carry the 20 lb water container back to the humidifier and attempt to get the heavy watrer container properly placed into the base again. Maybe OK for a young strrong person but we bought it for my elderly mother in law. She could not do any of the tasks required to fill it.
What happend to the really easy method of refilling? Taking a pitcher of water to the humidifier and pouring it in.

Just purchased my second Honeywell Quietcare Coolmist humidifier. The first one lasted 3 years before the motor quit. It's effective, easily adjustable, and- as advertised- quiet. City apartments are dry and overheated in winter. The humidifier helps a lot.
Cool Air Humidifier
I can't say enough about this humidifier. I live in a studio apartment and it is so dry in here. The humidifier uses almost the whole 4 gallons of water in a 12 hour period. It is easy to use. I have owned this same humidifier in the past but found that I can no longer find it in the stores. When I found an old booklet, I immediately went onto your website and ordered a new one. I had already had 2 other brands and wound up returning them because I was quite disatisfied. With the others, the air comes from the top and that just doesn't work as well in this apartment. I like that the air comes from the front in this humidifier. It is able to do the bedroom area and the living room. Please don't change this humidifier. It is the best. Thank you!
Pure plastic junk
The lid can not be srewed on the tank with out cross threading. It then leaks all over the place when you turn it over. Really???

It looks good, has a big water capacity and is reasonably quiet.
Improvements:
1. I would prefer having an always on option rather than humidistat setting at 55% maximum.
2. The water cap takes some effort to close properly and avoid leaks.
3. It would be helpful if the top handle would flatten so it would lay flat in your sink when filling with water.

We live in an extremely dry climate and have been "giving zappies" to everything from the electronic thermostat to the neighbors. Adding humidity to our home is of vital importance. So far I'm really pleased with this humidifier - the only feature I wish it had was a night light (our other's do, so I just somehow assumed this one would too)....it doesn't, and we sure do miss that feature.
It's very quiet and does a snap job at adjusting moisture rates based on our home's needs.

Excellent product. Already had 2 of these and loved them. Consequently, when it was time to buy another this is the one I chose.
Does not seem to do job as advertised
Just received and set up unit, which was as indicated. Unit is listed to handle areas up to 1400 sq ft, yet it runs continuously in an area approximately 50% that size at the lowest humidity setting.
I have been running it now for almost three days and will give it one week to prove itself. Also not as quiet as advertised.
At this time, I am not all that satisfied with my purchase. Will call Customer Service for their comments.
Super Unit
A great machine. Large water capaciity. Powerfull fan, yet very quiet on the low setting. And that is where I find I have it set 90% of the time. Cool led's show your fan and humidity level selections. Am very pleased with this unit

This is the second one I purchased. We have a ranch home and use one in the bedroom and the other in the living room /dining room/kitchen portion of the house.
During the day we have it on high speed in the bedroom and reduce it to low during sleeping hours. It does not disturb our sleep.
Very easy to clean and operate.
The product is great, the service from KAZ is 5 STAR.
I had dropped the tank to the first one I purchased (over 5 years ago) and rendered it useless. I e- mailed customer service when I could not locate the replacement on their site or any other site. I received an e mail the next business day with instructions to call and ask for customer relations not the Order Dept. If I were to go thru the order department, I would have been told it was not available, because it wasn't. Customer service was able to locate it....somehow and went the extra mile.
I strongly recommend doing business with KAZ.

I love this humidifier.....it's very quiet and easy to use. This is the 2nd on I have purchased. The tank of water lasts a long time. I also like that it has a place for the protec cleaning cartidge and I don't have to worry about adding chemicals each time I fill the tank. I would highly recommend this humidifier.

It's too loud, even on low, it's too loud. I can also hear it when I'm in another room with the door closed. I specifically purchased this item because it's supposed to be quiet than most, but it's not. It's actually louder than the one I replaced it with. I want to return it but I trached the box. Can I still return it with out the original box? Other than that, the price was affordable and filling it is not a hassle.

This item is not as quiet as advertised. I get less than 12 hours on one fill even on low with lowest humidity level. Blows cold air alnost constantly. The thermostat does work though.
Humidifier good; accompanying filter not
I really like the looks of this humidifier - it's not gaudy or a huge piece of machinery. It's nice and sleek and looks clean. I wish the vapor was aimed more upwards than out straight in front of it - would be more practical for the normal area. I don't know if the humidier turns itself off when it's empty or not since I never let it get empty. I have a cheap humidistat on an outdoor/indoor thermostat that says the humidity has only gone up 2% since we got the humidier 4 weeks ago - though I don't know if that's accurate or not. It does feel different up there and the excema that we thought our 9 month old had has disappeared since we started the humidifier up.
The filter on the other hand that came with the humidifier is junk - you're supposed to rinse it everytime you fill the humidier but the filter makes it an awful job. The filter has a layer of thin plasticy stuff that sheds terrible every time you rinse it off. The filter also doesn't look anything like the refill that I was told to buy for the humidifier. Hopefully the refill is nicer to deal with.
I would recommend this humidifer if you are shooting it into a longer area. The medium and high speeds are not at all quiet but my daughters sleep through both fine (a louder white noise). This humidifier is easy to refill and runs in our extremely low humidity house on high for a minimum of 12 hours.
Customer service is not that great since they don't confirm your order until they have shipped it and don't let you know when it's on back-order. You do the work but you get a good product if you're willing to possibly deal with a few hassles. Maybe I was just unlucky in the back-order thing. I will probably buy from this company again, they do have a great selection and now I know how to get in touch if there's a problem.

...This item would have received a "5". It is the easiest to use, clean, and humidify of any humidifier I have used---and I've been using these products for over 30 years. I do not hesitate to recommend the KAZ humidifiers.

We have had a Honeywell Room Humidifier for many years - this is a great item. Runs quiet and keeps a large room very comfortable. We bought a new one to replace one that wore out after 10+ years of service.

Nice Unit
I am very pleased with this humidifier. It is easy to fill, easy to clean, and is very quiet and unobtrusive in my living room. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I do not think the filter will last very long. The instructions say to rinse it out with every fill but after the second rinsing it has started to fall apart. I have to be very gentle with it and rinse every other fill or so. I have owned several humidifiers over the years and this is my favorite so far.
Missing features.
I was looking to purchase another HCM-650, to replace one that had stopped working. Unfortunately it appears that the "650" model is no longer available, so I purchased the HCM-645 instead.
Although the "645" seems to be working fine so far, it allows a maximum setting of 55% RH only, instead of 65% RH for the "650".
Also, the "650" had included a "Protec" antimicrobial cleaning cartridge, while the "645" included literature, but no cartridge.
On a positive note, the "645" included what looks to be a better filter than the one that came with the "650".

This humidifier is used in a basement den. Approx 1100 sq ft. Very quiet at all speeds.

I'm very pleased with my humidifier. It does everything I wanted. Cool steady mist stream and excellent mosit air circulation.

Works great, does the job it's intended to do. Wish it were still available in Black though.
