Long Lasting

This fan was bought to have with me in college, and that was back in 2006, it's lasted 5 years, I only wish I learned how to clean it before because a lot of dust built up. I cleaned it the best I could today with all types of things, couldn't get the case off because one of the screws was rusted, and two of them are not phillips head screws, like the manual said, maybe some other screwdriver would work.  But 75% cleaner than it was in 5 years and it's almost brand new again. It is not too loud, I like the noise because it drowns out the noise of cars moving by, which is annoying when you sleep, so a static noise is always good. I also like how powerful the small thing is. And it is really light and stable, not like those other models with the small base. It's sad that they downgraded their quality with the 900.

BEST Fan I've Ever Had!

The little HT-800 Honeywell Fan has lasted for MANY years and I run it all night every night to drown out any noise. It works great too. I went out to buy another for my Brother last night and all I could find was the newer model HT-900 which would have been fine I think for most people and the best part was you can clean the grill on the newer one's. BUT ... we wanted another one just like I already had and for the same reason ... to drown out noise as I am a night owl and my room is right next to his. He thinks with it on high he will be OK but I can tell right now it won't be loud enough. So, I am THRILLED to see the HT-800 at this site! Now, we'll each have one and no one really will see it's blades are dirty as they both will only be used in each of our bedrooms. Sometime's a few people have reasons they want the louder fan and we sure do. Again, this has lasted for at least 4 or 5 years or maybe even much more. I sure have and still do use it a lot. This is not a replacement ... it is just the fact it is a great fan and I want an additional one. Now, if you like super quiet fans then the HT-900 would most likely be the one for you.
