Also, instructions do not indicate if there is an auto shut-off when the water in the tenk is empty. I have to presume the unit does not shut off and runs until it burns out.

DO NOT BUY

I don't understand the positive reviews on here, unless my humidifier had a defect... The first night I had it on in the bedroom, I woke up to a huge puddle of water everywhere... then read some reviews online and found out that I was not the only one that had this problem... I figured that all the water came from the rectangle hole at the back on the humidifier, just below the air filter. It is also very noisy. I will be returning it ASAP.

Junk

I just got this Humidifier yesterday and it already quit working. I plugged it in and made sure it had water in it and the motor quit working I only got to use it for about 3 hours and that was about it.

►Interesting Design

Interesting design for a Cool Mist Humidifier,... a fan blade spirals air above the water surface creating air friction between the two elements. The air speed picks up evaporating water into the air stream to be ejected into a larger volume of space. Very similar to the Evaporative/Swamp Coolers used in the Southwest United States where the air is extremely devoid of moisture. >> The only downside? The friction of air, water and blade is almost equivalent to that of a 50cfm bathroom exhaust fan.

Quite but leaks water

This is a nice looking design, but it has noticible problems in water drip/leakage (blow out) under the head to the bowl in the rear of the unit. The grill should have been recessed to prevent water droplets from being blown out onto furniture or floor. Hunmidification is effective and noise level is low.

Excellent Product

This cool mist humidifier is exactly what I was looking for. I like to see and feel the mist coming out instead of the ultrasonic ones. It helps keep moisture in the air since it gets really dry with the heat going. It also works well as a "noise" maker and the kids sleep better!

I have used this model close to ten years. Then recently the humidifier became louder. I realized that the Pickup Tube had broken in a small section. I got on line if I could order the part and I could not locate any parts that could be ordered. So I priced one at CVS and decided to purchase the model 4100 online, it was more reasonably priced and the filters were a great buy. This humidifier is great: serves its purpose of keeping the area moist, less nasal issues in the morning, and easy to maintain. I a happy customer. Thank you.

Not Outputting

I just purchased my Vicks humidifier, only to find the fan seems to be making odd noises and is no longer outputting mist and water level is remaining the same. I am very unhappy with this purchase and want a fix or my money back.
