I just replaced my two Honeywell Air Purifiers. Old ones are still running but decided to update as they are 7-8 years old. I have really enjoyed the clean air that these little machines put out.

Very Pleased and Excited!
I've only had my Honeywell 50250-S for three days and within the first hour....WOW!!! What a difference. I live in a studio apartment with my precious little cat....I also live downtown next to a freeway so you can just imagine the dust! I am so happy I decided to stop waiting and purchase this unit. It was a great price and well worth the money!

Is a little loud, but I expected it would be if it was going to work. I put my earbuds and list to my Ipod lf I am in the room, or use it when I am in another room.
Honeywell Air Filter
I recently bought the Honeywell air filter, Model # 50250. I have run it now for several days and have noticed a difference in the air quality in the house already. With 4 cats and a lot of carpet in the house, there was a lot of dust and hair around despite frequent vacuming but I feel that the new air filter is really starting to make a difference. I don't run it 24 hours a day as was suggested in the manual but instead run it several hours a day, each time in a different room which seems to be effective.
It's a little loud on the high setting but I find that low is more quiet and still does the job.
A great product, well worth buying if you have a dust and hair problem

Air Purifier
We just purchased our air purifiers and they seem to be helping quite a bit. I especially like that we can turn it down low because we work in a small area with cubicles so noice reduction is one of our main concerns.
Works So Well, Bought Another Within a Week
This product was purchased to provide HEPA filtration for a large bedroom. It provided noticable air quality improvement on the first day of use. In fact, it worked so well, we purchased another within the first week for our large den-kitchen area, and both are functioning smoothly. Filters are easy to install . Low noise level at night. I got my air purifier on Tuesday afternoon, read directions and started it up. Within an hour I could tell a huge difference in my apartment. All of my coughing & dry throat & nose issues are gone. Soooooo glad that I got this product. Will most likely buy another one for my son's apartment. fyi-I do not smoke or have pets but something was coming through the heating system at my apartment that was irritating my throat & lungs.

This is the 2nd one we have owned. It is absolutly the best. Helps with alot of smells. And allergins. My husband ruined the first filter by spraying it with something. It was cheaper to buy a whole unit instead of a new filter (only downfall). This is a great product.

We were at my sisters' house and she recently got one of these air purifiers. She smokes and her home finally had gotten rid of the smoke smell. So we purchased one and we love it. The only thing I don't like is that it has to be 3 feet away from the wall. Other than that, it's great...

Overall, I have found these air purifiers wonderful and as I have 25 of them in various sizes they have become necessary to my living comfortably in the Southwestern drought areas of our nation. Between the pollen, dust and inversion layers associated with climate change they have become almost like family with my constant attention to maintain them. I refer to them as drought busters as they are essential to my daily life. As this is my first need of warrantee service they have proven extremely reliable over the past 20 years. I bought two of the 50250-S models from Amazon to upsize some older 17000 models I have. Great product but one of mine has a "fan blade rubbing the housing" type of noise that should have been caught at the factory I would think. I have tried everything to fix it but now I start the RMA/repair/return process.

I received this Air Purifier model #50250S for Christmas and set it up just yesterday 12/28/12 and am not happy with it because it is really noisy and blows such cold air which would be okay in the summer, but the noise is hard to deal with because the only place I have to put it is in the living room, any suggestions?
Slightly Disappointed
I live in an apartment complex where dust is an issue. I purchased my first unit as I own expensive electronics and could not believe the amount of dust that was reduced in such a large area. When winter came this year and I turned on my heat for the first time, I had recently changed the pre filter in my unit and had to change it again in less than one week and could not believe the amount of debris this thing catches!
I work out of my home and again have a number of expensive computers and other electronics in my office and just purchased another unit (although the unit for this size room is overkill) but I chose it because I liked the way the first one performed so much.
The only negative I found is that when I opened the second unit I noticed the pre filter was very thin in areas (almost to the point of being non existent in some areas) and called Honeywell to advise them of this and advised them I would not use the unit until I had a replacement as the HEPA filters are expensive and did not feel good about using the pre filter that came with the new unit.
I was very surprised when the representative offered to do nothing about my concern (although I own two of them) and stated that the prefilters "are a known issue" and essentially blew me off. I don't feel when your spending 150.00 on a product any part of it should be "sub standard" and don't know why they would not include what is sold in the stores with the unit when it's shipped.

This product is great at purifying the air; however, it pushes out chilly air which wouldn't be a problem in the summer but it is in the winter.

I have a grandchild that has allergies. We always have a lot of dust build up every week on the furniture. One day I noticed all the dust particles in the air of our house through sunshine coming in, which made me very unhappy. I ordered this and after almost a week I noticed there was no dust built up on my furniture. We also have a dog and a cat so I am overly happy with this product knowing how clean it is making the air in the house.

Wet dog smell
1st one developed wet dog smell within 6 months. Tried everything recommended buf it woulnt go away. Tried to get a refund, but they would only replace. So we are stuck with it. That being said, it does filter the air and is a nice noise maker for sleep. Hopefully the 2nd filter doesn't get the same smell.

I have only had my purifier for a few days, however, when I put it in the basement overnight, there was a (good) noticeable difference in the air quality. The only reason that I gave it a 4 is because when I had it upstairs, close to my bedroom, the low setting was still to loud and I had to move it further away from the door.
Great, but gave off smell for first week.
My HEPA Air Purifier
This is a wonderful product. Instructions are very clear and they were very eary to follow. The unit is a little loud but for me it is acceptable and I adjust accordingly to the point where I hardly notice it when in use. The value of the product in cleaning the air in my home is exceptional. When I have additional funds, I plan to purchase another unit to be used in another area of my home, I love it that much. I have since recommended this Air Purifier to some of my friends.

Great product - I bought one for my first baby's room and loved it, for the the purpose of both purifying the air and for white noise to help with sleeping, and I am now on my third baby and third of this same air purifier. It is easy to clean and operate, easy to change the filter. The low setting isn't too loud, but if you want to drown out noise the high setting works perfectly. We would definitely by another for any more kids!

I can't tell if it is working or not, but I put it on anyways. It has cool air coming out of the top, so I use it more as a fan than anything. I do see particles on the side of the unit; thus, I think it is working it getting all the dust out of the air.
Loud but effective
You can definitely tell a difference in the air quality of the room. But it is loud!! Don't think of this unit for the bedroom, or any room you want to have a conversation or hear the TV at normal levels.

I have not had this very long but so far I am impressed. The hepa filter and charcoal filter are huge, which make me believe it should do the job. The motor seems to be very powerful to draw particles into the system. If it keeps working the way it is now, I will be a very happy customer, thank you Honeywell!!!
It Works!
Was having sinus infections and waking with lots of congestion. By the second day my congestion was 90% better and my husband says my snoring has decreased by 90%. Yay! Thank you. B.A.

I am somewhat disappointed in this 50250-s air purifier. I have an hht-150 and was extremely please with that one. This one seems to produce an odor in the air. Smells like a plastic odor. It has gotten better after a few days but I can still smell it sometimes more than others. It is unpleasant and gives me the sense that it is not cleaning the air as it should. I am not sure if I need a new filter?
Reason for buying a Honeywell Air Purifier
I have been a life-long asthmatic and now have COPD. For several months, my breathing became worse, but while I was in Florida visiting my son, he put a Honeywell Air Cleaner in my bedroom and I could breathe without difficulty. When I returned to New Hampshire, I ordered a 50250-S model and it is making it easier to sleep. I keep it on high speed during the day and on the low setting at night and this works well for me.

We moved to New Mexico. We have been plagued with forest fires the last two summers. It would have been unbearable to live here with the smoke, due to my asthma. This air purifier is a life saver, literally. My doctor recommended we get one, and now I have a purifier in each bedroom. Without the purifier, I would have been to the emergency room. This product works great, and I have not had to use my inhaler!!

While I've only had the air purifier a few days it seems to work find for what I was hoping for, sucking up dust and cat hair. On high it really pumps out the air, and so any airborne hair or other things will get drawn into the machine.

I've owned a Honeywell HEPA filter since 1998 and have enjoyed trouble free service. I decided to get my brother a great (and practical) gift. This one fit the need, and Kaz.com had the best price,shipping was super quick, my brother loves the filter!

The unit was received in excellent condition, althou I was surprised at the size of the shipping box.
After installing the pre-filter we turned the unit on "high/turbo" speed for 5 mins. as directed. we were amazed at the air circulation immediately! The unit is noisey in high and medium speed levels, but becomes more beareable in the low speed setting.
We plan to use the turbo speed at night when no one is in the large open room that the unit was purchased for. Seems like a very good product, so far!

We have a smaller Honeywell Air Purifier for our bedroom and it has really helped with my allergies. We run the smaller one on two all the time and if we're out run it on high. We're very satisified with the smaller one and thought we would try the larger Purifier for the living room.

Good purifier
I just purchased this air purifier for the first floor of our house. I have another honeywell model in our bedroom and I love it. Really filters out a lot of dog hair, dust, and allergens. There was a very noticeable difference in my allergies between our bedroom and the first floor of the house. I've only had it going about a week and the weather has changed considerably so it's difficult yet to tell how much of a difference it's making, but I do notice less dog hair floating around and any 'funny' smells in the house that I could detect before are gone now.
I will note that this purifier is LOUD on high - I can't stress enough that it is roaring LOUD on high. We keep it on low when we're downstairs and I turn it up to medium when we go to bed.
So far, so good.
I just started using them (I bought two) yesterday. They seem to run smoothly, and they are not too noisy on the lower settings. I'm glad to read that the main filter is supposed to last several years.
One little oddity: On one unit, the high setting is on the first click. On the other, it's the third. Don't know how something like that can happen

For the price, this is a significant air purifier. I have several brands of which I have two of the Honeywells. For the general retail market, this is probably the strongest. By far, the best price than my others. As indicated by others, it is louder than I would like, but it is a lot stronger with more CADR than my others so I'm okay with it.
Great Air Purifier
This is the third one of this model that we have purchased, we now have one in all bedrooms of our house. We can tell a significant difference when we sleep with the air purifier on versus sleeping with it off. I would highly recommend this product. The noise level is slightly louder when compared to other brands, however we prefer this "white noise" and it does not bother us. If noises bother you when you are sleeping, then this model may not be for you.

JUST WANTED TO SAY MY MAIN AIR CLEANER THAT I USED FOR YEARS HAS BEEN REPLACED.I'M GIVING OLD ONES AWAY.THE BEST THING IS ALREADY HAVE 360 INTAKE BUT NEW ONE HAS A TOP OUTLET,WHERE MY OLD ONE BLEW RIGHT TO FLOOR.
BUT ONE MAIN THING IS PERMANENT HEPA FILTER,I USUALLY WHOULD HAVE THROWN IT OUT aFTER FILTER WAS GETTING CLOGGED.

I have been using this almost daily since I received it. It is a little loud for my bedroom. When I return home from work I use it at the lowest setting.
I will switch this one to the downstairs and buy the smaller model when I am able to financially manage it. Thank you. I was experiencing bronchial problems and this has helped.
Clean Air Machine
I have been having allergies due to tree pollen and the air purifier really helps. I let it run at high speed all day in my bedroom, then turn it to low for sleeping. I wish the machine were quieter at high speed, but it certainly does clean the air of pollen.

Three settings turbo (sounds like a jet engine) medium (sound is bearable but you have to have music a little louder) and sleep (reduces sound to a hum, bearable to sleep with unless your a light sleeper). All in all after using the unit for 2 weeks with opened it up and looked at the filter. the unit was doinge exactly as it said. The black charcoal filter was already dirty and proved that it was doing its job.
I wish the charcoal filter was washable and resuable at least a few times.
All in all depsite the noise a solid 4 out of 5 stars

I recently purchased this for my room as I had been having a lot of allergic symptoms because of a recently high trend of pollen in my area. Honestly, I did not even notice any difference at all. I wonder if this works. I am considering returning my purchase in a few days.

Great but big and a little loud
Overall it does just what it says it does, seems to work quite well in fact. The unit is a bit large and you probably don't want to leave it on it's highest level in a room you frequent or sleep in.
Very effective but noisey
This machine is great for larger rooms and areas where you need good air purification but aren't particularly concerned about the noise it makes...........especially on the higher fan settings. In a bedroom, for instance, it's pretty difficult to hear the TV when the unit is on the higher settings.
Very good investment
This a top of the line air purifier that has worked very well since arrival. The only draw back is the blue light which shows when the filter is full. It is very bright and has to be covered at night to allow for restfull sleep. A night setting would be a very favorable addition.

We purchased the Honeywell model 50255 air purifier apx 6 mounth ago when I found out I had developed pulmonary fibrosis. The air quality was very important to me because of pollens and other air born agents would have a negitive effect on breathing.
It was only running for "two hours" when my son came into our house and said "what is different", your house smells clean." He has allergies and noticed immediately the difference coming from outside environment into our now purified air environment.
I must say we went out and bought a second within two weeks. I believe this prouduct was well worth the price as it handles a greater volume of air faster then the less expensive ones and is really a middle priced product compared to the $400-$550 range purifiers, in my opinion.

Makes Life Better
This is a great filter. We now have two. My family suffers during allergy season, molds, pollens, whatever. These filters allow our home to be a refuge from the allergens outside and in other places.
The high speed is a bit noisy, but excellent to clean the air when out of the house. Medium speed works for sleeping. Low is great when on the phone, etc.
Setup is easy. Before buying the second filter we would carry it up and down the stairs every day. Not light, but not too heavy. Opening for filter replacement (3 mos for pre-filter, 2-3 years for HEPA) is easy and fast.

i bought this filter at a online store and found it not only a good filter but an excellent filter. i noticed the difference in the air in my whole apartment within a few days of it running just on low. i have one MAJOR disappointment. being one of the most expensive honeywell units sold, we have to buy universal replacements to the SINGLE unobstructed filter with three MORE obstructive universal filters that no one can tell me are the exact same specs as the the original. with the new "replacement" filters there is now two bands of rubber taking the place of what was one time filtration area of the original full size filter. so you tell me that this unit will be as efficient as it was originally? find a smaller unit that they still make full size filters for. as i am going to do. but not from honeywell. IM MAJORALLY DISAPPOINTED!!

This product worked well for the first two days and now, it seems to be blowing dust out into the air. I need to ask the manufacturer, what is up with this product. One thing I noticed when the box arrived was that the box had been opened and tape up again, like somebody had returned this item already to the original company that it was purchased from---I hope not.
