Vicks Cool Moisture Humidifier

The Vicks humidifier does what the discription says and does it well. This purchase was for a friend.  We purchased ours months ago and were so impressed we mentioned it to friends.  It holds a large quantity of water and very quietly does a good job of getting humidity back into the air in our house.  We have had no problems and like the product very much, especially the price.

We've had it now for 2 years working in the winter months when the furnace is running.  1st year was O.K. except that we had to cover the "nightlight" as it kept us awake. It still "glows" way to bright for people who usually have all the lights off at night. Can't shut off the nightlight feature. By the second year, it has been growing a "pink" mold in all areas that have water in them. Have scrubbed the unit several times but it returns in a few days of use. Areas that can not be reached it grows rampent. Now the unit is getting LOUDE and growing louder which is making it very difficult to sleep with it running. Have attempted to turn the unit is various positions in relations to our bed and it doesn't make any difference. In hindsight, we should have considered all that before we bought it. We're not going to make the warranty period of 3 years...not a good purchase.
