More Information

Great for large rooms! Honeywell True HEPA air purifiers are the best choice for capturing airborne allergens. In fact, surveys show that more doctors recommend Honeywell enviracaire® air purifiers to their patients than any other brand.1 It offers outstanding air cleaning performance with a HEPA filter. The True HEPA filter captures up to 99.97% of common airborne pollutants as small as 0.3 microns from the air passing through it such as dust, pollen, tobacco smoke, and cat dander. In addition, it also helps reduce airborne viruses and bacteria.2

The Honeywell glass-fiber HEPA material helps remove airborne particles, viruses & bacteria without the use of chemicals or other treatments. It also includes an activated carbon pre-filter to help remove larger airborne particles and reduce common household odors. The patented 360 degree air intake and discharge maximizes efficiency.

The HEPA filter is easy to maintain and can be vacuumed to extend its life. The Intelli-Check™ electronic filter indicator reminds you when to check the HEPA filter and when to replace the carbon pre-filter. This model is most effective for large size room up to 390 sq.ft.

  • 3 powerful air cleaning levels
  • SurroundSeal™ Technology helps minimize air leaks and insure that the air passes through the filter, capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns2
  • Replacement Pre-filter: HRF-AP1 or 38002

The 50250 True HEPA Air Purifier has been AHAM Certified for use in rooms up to 390 square feet. Its certified CADR ratings are:

  • 250 for smoke
  • 250 for dust
  • 250 for pollen

This air cleaner is ARB Certified to comply with the federal ozone emissions limit.

save your money - horrible customer service

First, Honeywell has nothing to do with the company that sells these units - except they allow their name on the product.

Second, Kaz, the company that does sell them under the Honeywell name provides HORRID customer service - in fact, no customer service. It is a total rip-off.

After reading a view reviews here on Amazon stating that the units are made by Kaz that were sold through Amazon, I thought I'd purchase directly from the maker (was I a dope), only to discover Kaz is the maker / distributor and just uses Honeywell name. (Also, weirdly, the merchant that processes their payments is eAccess Solutions - the company that sells Blackberry cell phones. weird.)

EXTREMELY LOUD and incredibly ineffective (I got seriously ill after running it for a total of 10 hours). It doesn't seem to do anything except suck and blow air. Before deciding to return it, I checked inside, looked at the filter, and there was not even the slightest trace of dust.

So I requested an RMA - and in the fine print, I learn that the company does not pay return shipping (which cost me $42) AND they charge a 10-30% restocking fee (!!!). I complained about that - with the $30 shipping I paid to begin with, plus the return shipping AND another 10 percent, I nearly could have bought one at a local store. *or on Amazon. What a sucker I was!

After sending my complaint to the Kaz rep - I'd pay anywhere from $60 to $120 just to return the thing with shipping and restocking - the agent said "...as a 1 time courtesy, they would waive the restocking fee should I care to return the unit."

I bit the bullet on the shipping. Total shipping = $28 + $42 to return = $70 out of pocket for nothing.

Then, weeks after returning the unit, I get an email saying basically, sorry. It was dirty. We're charging you a restocking fee. Was it dirty? Absolutely not. I checked it before boxing it and it was in exactly the same shape as when I received it.

So, now they will charge me up to $60 restocking. Not only that, they've had the unit for weeks, and have yet to issue a refund of any sort.

I did not get a good feeling about the entire product when I got very ill after using it a couple of days. I really don't think it does anything to be honest.

By the way, Honeywell no longer sells this unit on their own web site. That speaks volumes.

Good purifier

I just purchased this air purifier for the first floor of our house. I have another honeywell model in our bedroom and I love it. Really filters out a lot of dog hair, dust, and allergens. There was a very noticeable difference in my allergies between our bedroom and the first floor of the house. I've only had it going about a week and the weather has changed considerably so it's difficult yet to tell how much of a difference it's making, but I do notice less dog hair floating around and any 'funny' smells in the house that I could detect before are gone now.

I will note that this purifier is LOUD on high - I can't stress enough that it is roaring LOUD on high. We keep it on low when we're downstairs and I turn it up to medium when we go to bed.

So far, so good.

I just started using them (I bought two) yesterday. They seem to run smoothly, and they are not too noisy on the lower settings. I'm glad to read that the main filter is supposed to last several years.

One little oddity: On one unit, the high setting is on the first click. On the other, it's the third. Don't know how something like that can happen
