Honeywell QuickSteam™ 3.0 Gallon Warm Moisture Humidifier

This is the second product we have purchased this year.  The first, the plastic water reservoir cracked. I bought another one at the local hardward store and last night the water reservoir cracked on this one.  Can I just buy a water reservoir and not the entire product?

This is my third honeywell humidifier and so far honeywell is the best brand I have ever used. I like the fact that it turns off when the water runs out and also the fact that this latest model does not use filter. I like it.

In 2006 we moved to Arizona. After the first night of dehydrated head  I started purchasing humidifiers for the bed room. Ano/cathode steamers lasted a few weeks, evaporators were noisy and became lime clogged and the aluminum baffles became brittle then crumbled after several months. The sonic unit covered the room in fine white powder.

Finally I bought 2 of the larger Honeywell electronic models. One lasted 3 and the other 4 yrs. Went through countless mineral pads and still the heater plate would be thick with calcium carbonate (rock), bought distilled vinegar 2 gallons at a time. Despite the lime problem they were the most reliable, no odor, acceptable quiet & efficient humidifiers tried to date.

This year we moved to MO. , no longer need to run one year round. So for the winter of 12/13 we bought the dial control smaller version of the quicksteam line, and bought one for our son when he moved to a new apartment In CT. His water is soft and the unit cleans with a wipe of paper towel. They both work fine, There is a non-stick coating on the heating element that allows the vinegar to rempve chunks of lime quickly.

Highly recommend if you have soft water... or hard water for that matter, you'll just have to keep after the buildup.
